What is asset tracking for post-production?
It's keeping a record of physical media and equipment — drives, tapes, cards and kit — and where each item is. Mediawork labels every asset, records each movement and keeps the full history.
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. Scan labels with your phone's camera in the browser, or use a USB scanner at a desk. Both work the same way.
Can it track drives sent by courier?
Yes. Record the carrier, tracking code and expected arrival on the movement. Mediawork links to the courier's own tracking page, and the movement is marked received when it arrives.
Can we record drive wipes and destruction?
Yes. Wiping keeps a record of the contents that were removed. Destruction is recorded as wiped, degaussed or shredded, with a certificate PDF.
