CRM for media production

Accounts, contacts and titles, a pipeline from first enquiry to award, and every client conversation kept with the job. Built around how production companies actually sell.

Jobs — Every job by stage, from enquiry to completion

A generic CRM doesn't know what a season is

Most CRMs are built to sell software subscriptions. Production companies sell work on titles, seasons and episodes. They often sell to the same studios and networks again and again, and quote service by service.

Mediawork's CRM is built around that. Accounts, contacts and titles sit next to the jobs, quotes, schedules and invoices that follow them. Sales and operations work from the same record.

Accounts and contacts

Keep every studio, network, agency and production company in one place, with the people you deal with at each.

  • Contacts linked to accounts

One person can work with several companies.

  • Account sites

Each client's offices and locations, with the contacts at each.

  • Billing details

Billing contacts and addresses on the account, ready for invoicing.

  • Bulk edit

Update many accounts or contacts at once.

Titles, seasons and episodes

Track the productions behind the work. Jobs, quotes and invoices are tied to the title they're for.

  • Seasons and episodes

For series work, down to the episode.

  • IMDb IDs

Ensure just one copy of each title by adding its IMDb ID.

  • Every job on a title

The full history of work for a production in one place.

A sales pipeline from enquiry to award

Opportunities start as leads. When they firm up, convert them to jobs and follow each one through clear stages.

  • Opportunity stages

    Lead and qualified.

  • Job stages

Enquiry, quoting, submitted, awarded, in production, on hold, completed, lost and cancelled.

  • Convert either way

Turn an opportunity into a job, or a job back into an opportunity.

  • Quote requests from the directory

Clients find you by service and send a request to your inbox.

Weighted forecasts and dashboards

Know what's coming in. Every opportunity has a value and a probability, and dashboards roll them up at company and facility level.

  • Weighted pipeline

Total and probability-weighted values, side by side.

  • Estimate, quoted and awarded

See the numbers firm up as a deal progresses.

  • Revenue forecast

    By close date.

  • Every currency you sell in

    Totals shown per currency.

Tags, custom fields and notes

Shape the CRM to your business. Add the fields you need, segment your records, and keep shared notes where everyone can find them.

  • Custom fields

Text, number, yes/no, date and tag fields, edited inline in lists.

  • Tags and tag groups

Segment accounts, contacts and jobs your way.

  • Shared notes

On accounts, contacts, jobs and titles.

Every conversation with the job

Client and team messages are organised by job, with shared inboxes for each part of the business. Nothing hides in personal email.

  • Shared inboxes

General, sales, procurement, ops, finance and freelance.

  • Assign and search

Hand a chat to a colleague and find any message later.

  • Email replies in the thread

Clients can reply from their own inbox.

CRM questions

What is a CRM for media production?

It's a customer relationship management system built around how media companies sell: to studios, networks and agencies, on titles, seasons and episodes, with work quoted service by service. Mediawork's CRM connects that sales record to quoting, scheduling, cost tracking and billing.

Can I track TV series by season and episode?

Yes. Titles can have seasons and episodes, and jobs, quotes and invoices can be tied to them. Add a title's IMDb ID to make sure it exists only once.

Does Mediawork show a weighted sales forecast?

Yes. Each opportunity has a value and a probability. Lists and dashboards show total and weighted values, and a revenue forecast by close date.

Can I add my own fields?

Yes. Custom fields can be text, numbers, yes/no, dates or tags. They can be edited inline in lists and set in bulk.

Do my clients need to sign up?

No. Clients can reply to your messages by email. Clients who do sign up get their own account, where they can send quote requests, compare quotes and follow the work you share with them.
